Karen was born and brought up in Hong Kong and is half English, half Spanish. She has travelled the world extensively and very much enjoys the experience of diverse cultures and languages. She worked as an Executive PA in the City in London for many years but after a 6 month stint in Thailand, where she learned to dive, she decided to give it all up to pursue a career in SCUBA diving! Hence her first visit to South Africa where she worked as a Divemaster in Pretoria for 6 months before heading to Durban to do her Instructors course. After she qualified she moved to Mozambique where she lived and worked for 3 years, with 6 months of that time spent working in Dahab, Eygpt. Her passion for teaching this wonderful sport is matched only by her love of being able to show people the awesome creatures and sights under water.
Jason is from Pretoria in South Africa, although he was brought up in Botswana for 12 years. That is where he discovered his passion for the wilderness with numerous adventures into the remotest parts of the bush. After school he studied Game Ranging and Lodge Management and went on to work on a 37,000 hectare private game reserve guiding guests with drives and walks into the bush to see the Big 5. During this period he learnt how to SCUBA dive and was hooked! So he decided to change his career and become a SCUBA Instructor, following the PADI Career Development Programme, in just six months! For the last 3 years he has worked in Mozambique with a 6 month stint in Dahab, Egypt.
