Want to learn how to dive?

First pool sessionThere are many diving organisations around the world. PADI is the largest and tends to be the most well known. In nearly every dive destination worldwide you'll find a PADI dive centre.

There are quite a few ways to get you started with PADI. They are as follows:

Discover Scuba Diving – You have a short lecture explaining the equipment you'll be using, then an overview of some skills before practising them in the pool. Once you're ready you'll be able to go for a shallow dive in the sea, all in the same day! This can then be credited to either of the next two listed below:

Scuba Diver - For those short on time and therefore unable to do a full Open Water (OW) course, this involves just three of the classroom sessions with corresponding knowledge reviews, three pool sessions followed by two dives to a maximum depth of 12m. This all counts toward the full OW course.

Open Water certification – This involves five classroom sessions with knowledge reviews, five pool sessions and then four dives, the last two to a maximum depth of 18 metres.

After accomplishing your OW certification there are so many more things you can do - take further courses, join a dive club, go and dive somewhere new.. the opportunities are endless. But most importantly just keep diving!

Going under for the first timeIf you are planning to do the full OW course whilst on holiday, we have often found that some people prefer to get the theory done before they go away so they don't need to spend their holiday reading the manual and they can get on with the pool sessions and the dives as soon as they get to their destinations!
